[ comme des garcons, converse, fashion, play, shoes ]

Worldwide launch May 28th, sluts! These sneakers will be exclusive to the COMME des GARÇONS NYC boutique and their Dover Street Market shops in London, Tokyo, and online. There are four styles in this new collaboration: two high-tops and two low-tops in various combinations of black, white, and red. I kind of love the white low-tops.
And if this news isn’t enough, CDG’s Dover Street Market NYC website is up and running. Check out DSMNY E-Shop here and sign-up to be notified when the shoes are available.
The other two styles are after the jump.

[ anwar al-awlaki, bush, freedom of the press, obama, politics ]

Yesterday, The New York Times Editorial Board wrote an interesting piece about the Obama administration’s increasingly disturbing attacks against the freedom of the press. I’ve found Obama and his administration’s ethics to be highly questionable ever since he took office, so I’m not sure why I’m surprised at this new information, but nonetheless I post it here because I feel it’s important.
I consider myself very liberal and have often voted as a Democrat, but for the 10 years or so, I’ve been registered with

[ dildo, nsfw, pop culture ]

These are the kinds of things you live for on the internet. Forget about the cat videos for a second. I’m talking about pussy. And more specifically, what happens when said pussy takes over a woman’s mind, controls her life, and ruins her marriage. And I thought these kinds of things only happened to men. Welcome to the club, ladies!
Jump in to read one woman’s story of dildo depravity—in her own words! I highly recommend it.

German artist Claudia Rogge. She shoots the individual subjects and then arranges them digitally. These are some of her earlier works. Her current pieces deal less with repetition and more with human assemblage in classical poses, all through digital manipulation, of course. More inside.

[ black skinhead, kanye west, kristen wiig, MUSIC, new slaves, prada, snl, yeezus ]

After a full year of disappointing Saturday Night Live without Kristen Wiig (even with last week’s unfunny Kristen Wiig) we finally have something to talk about.
Kanye West performed two new songs, ‘Black Skinhead’ and ‘New Slaves’ last night on SNL. Both better than anything else we’ve seen on the sketch show in quite sometime. On Friday night Kanye debuted (unannounced) a video projection of ‘New Slaves’ on 66 walls around the world including Prada’s 5th Avenue store.
Last night was the first time we’ve seen him perform his new work. His performance was an artfully controlled fury of anger, defiance, self-reliance, empowerment and as always, clever wordplay. He snarled and barked in front of large video projections of dobermans and discount sale signs. The most prominent one reading: ‘Not For Sale’.
Something no one ever says about Kanye? He uses simple lighting to great effect in his live performances.
Kanye’s new album, ‘Yeezus’ will be released on June 18.
Check out his performance of ‘New Slaves’ after the jump.
