SEATTLE RAP DUO THEESatisfaction GIVES US ‘FUNK-PSYCHEDELIC FEMINISTA SCI-FI EPICS’

Wow. ‘QueenS’ is teeming with great style, confident women, and soulful, funky grooves. I’m not sure what’s going on with me lately, but I’m not fighting it. Maybe it’s my new found love of Frank Ocean, but I’m in the mood for some good, original R&B, hip-hop, soul, or whatever. Their website says they like to call it ‘funk-psychedelic feminista sci-fi epics.’ Okay. Like I said, I’m not fighting it.

THEESatisfaction is Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White and they’re based in Seattle. They pull a Prince and write, produce, and perform all their own material. Their debut album, awE naturalE came out earlier this year on Sub Pop Records. The Vancouver Sun chose it as one of their favorite records of 2012 so far.

Not only is the sound good, but nearly every frame in ‘QueenS’ is packed with great visuals.

Oh, and don’t tell my mom, but I think they might be lesbians.
