Tilda Swinton And ‘The Impossible Wardrobe’
Tilda Swinton will star in an upcoming ‘live happening’ in Paris titled, ‘The Impossible Wardrobe’. The fashion performance is the creation of Olivier Saillard, director of the Musée Galliera. It will take place each evening at the Palais de Tokyo as part of the Festival d’Automne à Paris from September 29th to October 1st.
British-born and Parisian-based artist Katerina Jebb has filmed Tilda while she was rehearsing for the piece. Her short film titled, ‘The Future Will Last a Very Long Time’ will be screened on a loop throughout the event. In the film, Tilda is seen wearing white a lab coat, gloves, and high heels and she makes her way through the museum’s ‘clinical storerooms’. She holds up garments from the museum’s historic archives and images of previous owners are projected onto her body. Images to be projected include, Napoleon Bonaparte, Sarah Bernhardt, and writer Natalie Clifford Barney.
