Someone better call all the Oscar voters and tell them to hold the phone because ‘Big Ass Spider’ is about to break loose!

It isn’t everyday that you get a perfectly awful B-movie to enjoy, so we welcome BAS and everything that comes with it (the endless potential for Tumblr memes!). The movie, directed by Mike Mendez was a hit with audiences as part of SXSW’s Midnighters Program and with any luck you’ll be able to watch it on video-on-demand services.

The film is described as, “When a giant alien spider escapes from a military lab and rampages across the city of Los Angeles, it is up to one clever exterminator and his security guard sidekick to kill the creature before the entire city is destroyed. BIG ASS SPIDER!”

It’s a classic Marxist, good vs. evil, David vs. Goliath story. I love it so much I would never want to actually watch it. The trailer is enough for me. I mean, how could any movie live up to that trailer? “Hide yo’ kids, hide yo’ wife!”
