Object Of Desire
I no longer get a boner for Apple. I mean, don’t get me wrong, they make a good product and as a designer their machines are virtually necessary tools, but my love affair has faded. I’ve been using Apple products for nearly 30 years. True story. Back in the 5th grade my computer teacher was all Apple all the time. I think the other teachers thought he was weird (and he was), but he was also ahead of his time. He saw the quality in Apple. Now, not to take anything away from his prescience, but probably the real reason we had them at our school was because Apple gave their machines to schools for free. Drug dealers work this way. Kids get it for free (you’ll pay later). Hey, it works, right?
We used Apple IIe’s. This was back when
[more]Bretford PowerSync Tray For iPad
I think it’s safe to say the new Bretford PowerSync Tray for iPad is even more beautiful than the iPad itself, especially when it’s all padlocked up. I showed this to a friend of mine and he actually said, “but I only have one iPad.” LOL OMG! We no longer speak.
From the Apple Store, “Designed for iPad and compatible with iPhone and iPod touch, the Bretford PowerSync Tray for iPad neatly stores and charges up to 10 of your iOS devices, keeping them organized and ready to go when you are. In addition, it supports mass configuration and updates using Apple Configurator, as well as syncing with iTunes.”
The good news is you can daisy-chain up to 3 PowerSync Trays for use with up to 30 devices. I love a good daisy-chain.

[more]Update, Bitches, Update!

So, my laptop is dead. It was beeping and barking and shutting itself off. I took it to the Apple store and the guy told me that sometimes the MacBook Pros get shot in the arm and then they don’t work right and sometimes they get shot in the head and they’re dead. He said mine was shot in the head. He couldn’t tell me much more than that, but I went with it. We packaged it up and sent it to Houston. The doctors are working on it now. Hopefully they’ll be able to revive it. I’ve visited so many trashy websites I’m sure they’ll probably have to do a kidney transplant as well.
What does that mean for you? Well, that means for the next week or so, any updates to the blog will be minimal and sporadic. Emphasis on the minimal.
Since my Nokia was basically carved from a single piece of soapstone about 10 years ago and painted to look like a phone, I’m not able to blog from it. So here I am on a PC at the Berkeley Public Library. You only get one hour sessions. And after bickering with a semi-homeless hippie that smelled like stale urine and Tara Reid’s old tube top to get off my reserved machine and then checking my email, I only have a few minutes left.
But don’t worry, I’ll come back tomorrow and hopefully get a post up. The good news is that I now have a library card, which in 2012 means free movies! They actually have a pretty decent selection too, but no porn (I know!).
So, hang in their dear readers! I’ll be up-and-running on my usual schedule as soon as possible, I haven’t forgotten about you!
