My spies in PDX have given me the 411 on last night’s drunken debauchery out in Portland. Gossip’s lead singer and all around belle of the ball, Beth Ditto was arrested for disorderly conduct. Now, for those of you not up-to-date with your fancy police jargon, that loosely translates to ‘bitch was having a good ol’ time and the po-po got her’.
All the dirty details are inside.
Amen, sister. Beth Ditto and her band Gossip have released a video for ‘Get A Job’. It’s my favorite song from their last album, ‘A Joyful Noise’ and it might just be my favorite Gossip video of all time. Getting to see Beth bang a hammer, massage an oily hunk, and dance around in a bikini complete with anchor tattoo is worth the price of admission—even if it is free!
Watch the video above and jump in for ‘Move In The Right Direction’, it’s another gem.

Last week we mentioned that Beth Ditto and her band Gossip would perform live during designer Christopher Kane’s Spring/Summer 2013 runway show for his Versace Versus collection. Well, now we have the video and it doesn’t disappoint!
Beth and the band performed just off the runway. A large video screen projected Beth onto the backdrop of the catwalk as the models made their entrances. The band opened the show with a rocking performance of ‘Standing In The Way Of Control’, one of the best Gossip tracks in my humble opinion. Then, they wrapped it up with ‘Listen Up’. Beth looked super happy to be there—everyone looked like they were having fun. Well, except for the models that is—they were very serious. But I suppose that’s their job. Serious modeling and all.
The collection was strong too. Archival prints have been updated with new silhouettes and details. I liked the multi-colored chain details that showed up as jewelry, straps and beading. Beth was dressed in a custom Versus dress with chains o’ plenty. And finally, at the end, Christopher Kane took his bow alongside Donatella.
I think Christopher Kane was a brilliant choice to take over the reins at Versus. The in-demand British designer has given it a fresh, youthful new take. Versace moves forward. Nice.
